just a girl

The pressure is always on girls, isn’t it?

The voices never silence in our head.

With swimsuit season and social media perfection.

I am a photographer. I make things look pretty. And that is okay.

But toda…me…nervous as f*ck to stand in front of my own camera.

No touchups, no liquefy, just exactly as I am…hardware in the left leg, an unrepaired torn meniscus and acl in the right knee, unable to run for six weeks, stretch marks, cellulite, age…

I am just a girl. With lots of flaws.

Let’s photoshop and lift and botox and filter all we want.

But, let’s also remember that we are OKAY…WE ARE ENOUGH…just as we are.

And the place we start is by treating ourselves this way.

This little slip came from my fav, Free People, mine is no longer available…but linked is a beautiful open back satin one in the same magenta that I would LOVE to add to my closet.
