Curly Girl Hair
I have struggled all my life to find the perfect products and combination to fix my hair. I will be honest there are products that I use that work great for a while, and then my hair changes and they stop working the way I want them to. For example, a shampoo may work great for a time and then it may start making my hair feel too dry. My hair also changes with the temperature and weather, so I have to plan accordingly based on the humidity especially. So with all of that being said, I’m going to tell you what my current favorite products are and how I am using them. Before I found these, I was struggling with my hair being extra frizzy and dry. These products have solved my dry hair issues.
Shampoo AG Balance. I really like this shampoo. It has a very natural essential oil smell. It is formulated with over 98% plant-based, naturally derived ingredients, AG’s Balance sulfate free shampoo gently cleanses the hair and scalp. Organic apple cider vinegar naturally closes the hair cuticle for additional shine and organic argan oil, and aloe vera help further smooth and moisturize. Perfect for color treated hair.

I love the Deva Curl Conditioner. At first, I tried it with the shampoo and conditioner, and it seemed to build up on my scalp. I took the shampoo away and continued to use the conditioner and its perfect. I do not use this on my scalp only apply from the ears down, or your scalp will be too flat.
This is an excellent price point!! It is also my favorite leave-in conditioner I have ever used! It is 100% sulfate and silicone free. I use this everytime I wash my hair.
I put this gel on when my hair is still dripping wet in the shower. I flip my head over and apply all over my hair. I then take a tee shirt and scrunch it. When I want a fuller loose curl, this is the gel I use.
I only use this cream when I feel my hair is super dry which is not very often. It tends to be too heavy on my hair, and the gel does better.
I use the Ouidad when I want a more stiff curl. This is the gel I use if I need to sleep on my hair and it still is good for the next day. It keeps frizz out of my hair better, but it is a heavier gel which can feel a little crunchy if you get too much. So just be careful when applying if you are like me and don’t like that feeling. This is a great gel, and I use it often.
These are my only curly hair steps. I try and let my hair air dry as long as possible and then at the end diffuse it with my blow dryer. The more I have to blow dry it the bigger it gets. Sometimes I am in the mood for that look, and sometimes I like the looser wave.
I also learned recently about… Is it CG approved website. You can take the ingredients of your product and paste into the box, and it will tell you if your product is curly girl approved and if the ingredients are harmful to your hair.
